Thérèse Deprez: Production Designer

Production designer Thérèse DePrez shares one of the scrapbooks she typically packs with research photos, sketches, paint samples, and elevation drawings (in this case, for Spike Lee’s 1999 film Summer of Sam, for which she imbued block after New York City block with a late ’70s look and feel). Includes a removable 10" x 32" foldout.

Thérèse DePrez (1965–2017) served as production designer for a number of films, including High Fidelity, I Shot Andy Warhol, Happiness, Dark WaterMr. Magorium’s Wonder EmporiumThe Drop, and Black Swan, for which she won an Art Directors Guild Award and a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Production Design at the 64th British Academy Film Awards. In 1997, she received a Special Recognition Award from the Sundance Film Festival, and in 2003, she served as a short film juror. Deprez also designed David Bowie’s world concert tour in 2005.
