Artist’s Project: Mickey Smith

Excerpts from photographer Mickey Smith's “Volume” series, which documents bound periodicals and journals in public libraries.

Mickey Smith received a B.A. in photography from Minnesota State University, Moorhead in 1994. She also holds a Diploma in Jewelry Design from Hungry Creek Art & Craft School in New Zealand (2019). Smith has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including shows at the Alvar Aalto Library in Vyborg, Russia, and the Center for Photography in Woodstock, NY. Smith, who resides in New Zealand, has received the McKnight Artist Fellowship for Photography as well as grants from Forecast Public Art Affairs, CEC ArtsLink, and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
